In August 2010, the Carroll County Historical Society initiated the process of commemorating the centennial of this tragic history. A committee of Society officers, principal family descendants, community professionals, and interested others was enlisted to coordinate a sensitive, sympathetic, conciliatory and balanced set of commemorative programs.

This website is devoted to the centennial committee's plans and projects. Herein the communities of principal descendants, historical scholarship, civic agencies, and the general public will be kept informed.
